What is health coaching?
Health coaching is a confidential and supportive partnership where a coach supports individuals in setting and achieving personalized health and wellness goals. It focuses on making sustainable lifestyle changes through goal-setting, motivation, and accountability. Different from medical treatment, health coaching empowers clients to take an active role in their own health by developing healthier habits and behaviors.
How does a health coaching visit differ from a doctor visit?
Your trusted doctor will assess your health, provide you with a diagnosis, and prescribe a treatment plan to improve your condition. A Health Coach visit helps you stay on track during the time between visits. We'll work together to put the doctor's treatment plan into action, with an emphasis on supporting behavioral and lifestyle changes to achieve long-term wellness.
What aspects of my life can I address with my coach?
Eating habits/nutrition, finances, health maintenance, life satisfaction, possible reduction of the medications you’re using, physical activity, sleep and relaxation, stress and weight management, relationships, spiritual practices, and mindset are all areas that you can discuss with a health coach. It’s your choice as to what you want to focus on to improve your well-being.
How many visits will I need with my health coach?
There’s no set number of visits; however, meeting with your health coach on a regular basis will guide you along your journey to wellness. We'll work together to create a schedule that fits your busy life in the free consultation call or the first coaching call.
How long are the health coaching sessions?
This will depend on your schedule, as your health coach will uniquely tailor each session to meet your needs. Ideally, a coaching session would be at least 30 minutes long, but there is no exact cutoff time.
Will my insurance or employer have access to the information discussed at my health coaching visits?
No. All shared information is confidential and kept secure. We follow HIPAA guidelines, which ensure the protection of privacy and your medical information.
How will health coaching bring lasting change?
Health coaching guides you in charting your path toward wellness and helps you take a series of small, doable steps that become long-lasting, meaningful and powerful changes.
Will my health coach provide personalized meal plans or exercise routines?
A health coach can provide general guidance on nutrition and exercise, but does not prescribe personalized meal plans or exercise routines. Instead, we focus on helping you develop sustainable habits, such as setting realistic goals, understanding portion sizes, and making healthier choices.
