The Process

A typical process for health coaching can vary depending on the specific coach, the client's goals, and the scope of services. However, here is a general outline of the typical steps involved in a health coaching process:

  • Schedule a Free Consultation: Start with a 30-minute session to discuss your goals, health status, and motivations. Both you and the coach ensure a good fit before proceeding.

  • Goal Setting: Develop SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bound) goals and an action plan.

  • Assessments: Utilize tools like health history questionnaires, food and activity logs, stress and sleep assessments, and behavior tracking.

  • Coaching Sessions: Regular 30-60 minute sessions to track progress, tackle obstacles, and adjust goals as needed.

  • Accountability and Support: Benefit from regular check-ins, progress updates, and between-session support to stay motivated.

  • Education and Resources: Gain knowledge on nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleep hygiene, and self-care.

  • Action Planning: Create realistic and safe action plans with your coach’s guidance.

  • Ongoing Evaluation: Regularly review progress, adjust plans, and learn to self-coach for continuous improvement.
